Getting our hands dirty is how we recharge. Whether it’s heirloom seeds, sturdy potting tools, or the supplies needed to turn a backyard harvest into a pantry staple, we believe in homesteading that’s both intentional and achievable. Here are the items that help us grow and gather from the garden to the table.

Our favorite for hauling garden supplies or loading with branches and weeds. The hitch works great to attach to the zero turn and the handle makes it easy to dump.

Whether hauling supplies or taking our grandbabies on a ride, we love the versatility. A bonus is that it folds flat for storage.

This, by far, has been one of my much appreciated investments. Does a great job as a weed barrier which has saved me countless hours.

We use this to attach to t-posts and a rod to allow for vertical growth for peas, beans, and other vining plants.

Our go-to organic method for treating our lawn and garden for ants.

Watering the garden can be a chore, but with this timer, we can preset the time and duration of watering our plants. Makes tending to our garden a lot easier.

We have tried multiple brands, but have liked these the best. They are sturdy and easy to use with a rubber mallet. Holds the weed barrier securely.

These have held up well to mark our plants. We mark the name, date we plant, and average maturity time so we know when we can expect a harvest.

A calcium addition for hens for healthy egg production. Just leave some out and they will consume what they need.

A simple durable feed bucket for adding to our chicken feeders.

One of our “must haves” in the garden. It is a powerful organic option that boosts plant growth while simultaneously improving soil health and structure.

Not all jobs require our big pump sprayer. We use this 2 liter hand held sprayer. It is lightweight, easy to use, and makes quick work when applying liquid fertilizer or organic insecticides.

One of the best organic pest controls we use. This is a fast-acting, natural insecticide derived from chrysanthemum flowers which works on a variety of pests including aphids and moths.

We use this at the base of our squash and zucchini plants as a deterrent for the vine borers. Mix as directed. Caution: it does have a strong sulphur smell.

We include this along with blood meal sprinkled in the freshly dug holes and on the root ball of each plant. Bone meal promotes strong root systems, vibrant blooms, and increases fruit and seed yields.

We always add this to the freshly dug holes when planting new plants , especially peppers and tomatoes. Blood meal promotes green growth and lush foliage.
